Tallet 8 – the famous 8 House by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). Denmark is actually known for its architecture, and I was fortunate to tour the INSIDE of the Tallet 8 building as well as hear Bjarke in person speak at the Denmark Architecture Center (DAC) with a open house party with his work and models (and luckily it was in English) ! One of the highlights of my RTW trip that I will remember forever. So yes, it’s shaped like an 8, if you look down from the sky. You can see the bottom loop here, touching the lake.⠀

8 House (Danish: 8 Tallet), also known as Big House, is a large mixed-use development built in the shape of a figure 8 on the southern perimeter of the new suburb of Ørestad in Copenhagen, Denmark. Designed by Bjarke Ingels, founding partner of the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the bow-shaped building consists of 61,000 square metres of three different types of residential housing and 10,000 square metres of retail premises and offices. It is the largest private development ever undertaken in Denmark. ⠀
