Arrival in London by Eurostar “Chunnel” train from Paris. Amazing technology – we need this in the US. After passing thru a crowded, long line (UK customs) in Gare du Nord, we took at 2+ hr bullet train into London. BTW not many elevators if u had big luggage – u had to carry your luggage down the stairs in Paris. Took a light nap as I didn’t want to miss anything, but it’s uneventful after you leave France.
Trafalgar Square with its famous bronze lions. These are on pedestal (4 or 5 ft). They let (or used to let) you climb the pedestal, but NO sitting or climbing on the lions. Westminster is technically a city within the greater city of London (something with its own Duke). Within 10 min walk you can see a multitude of sights – ALL FREE. (not like the US where all museums charge).
